Synopsis
Nuclear war has destroyed civilization, and now the survivors must rebuild. Their guide in this monumental task? The first ten seasons of the hit animated sitcom, The Simpsons. New Springfield might just be the greatest city in the wasteland, though not everyone is happy. When a brutal new mayor is reelected and begins consolidating his power, a team of rebellious children are forced to act. It’s a desperate plan, but the fate of the world, what’s left of it anyway, may hang in the balance…

I’m not really a Simpsons fan (I like it, I’m just not a fan), so I’m pretty sure I missed a ton of references and that some of the humour was lost on me. But with that said, it was easy to still enjoy this very funny, wacky, horrific, and superbly entertaining story. When I started this, I did not expect it to go in the direction of an epic hero’s journey post apocalyptic war story – but here we are! Platz-Halter is somewhat of a hidden gem of a writer, and I will deffo be checking out more from her.

Anyway, I’m off to store my car in the Car Hold. Until next time, peace and love!
