Sun (part 2) by Jack CJ Stark

I’ve got it! It’s the rivers. They dried up overnight. That’s how the others stay distracted for now. It makes them sad. I don’t mind the rivers being dry. I never liked the rivers. The learned folk say the rivers will return shortly. The people wait in anticipation.

No news on when the sun will return, though. They still choose to not speak of it. I’m not sure what good it does to have rivers when there is no sun. What is the point in the rivers running when the sun still won’t rise, when the plants remain dead, and the darkness still brings what it brings?
